School Meals

School meals are prepared and cooked on site in line with Monmouthshire County Councils menu plan.

School lunches are currently £2.10 a meal and should be paid online with parentpay. Application forms can be obtained from the school office.

There are also facilities for your child to bring a packed lunch. Important! – We are a nut free school so children having packed lunches at school must not bring any food products that are nut based.

Free School Meals

If your child attends St Mary’s and you are in receipt of one of the following benefits, you can claim free school meals:

  • Income support

  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance

  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and their annual income does not exceed £16,190. (HM Revenue and Customs are responsible for assessing the level of annual income.)

  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit.

  • Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.

If your child is entitled to free meals/clothing grants, the forms may be obtained from the school office and returned by you to:

Fruit Tuck

We also have a morning fruit snack in the Foundation phase. The children are given a daily selection of chopped fresh fruit. the cost of this £1 per week. Please send in at the beginning of the week or you can also pay per 1/2 term – please see the half terms first weekly newsletter for this cost.
